Not Me Monday - Kindergarten Edition

I did not daydream all morning about Nick as a baby, toddler, preschooler, etc. and wonder how my 5 lb 3 oz. newborn baby boy became old enough to go to school. Not Me!

I did not smile at how handsome he looked in his first day of school outfit, shiny new sneakers, and a backpack as big as he is - never!

I would never stop the car as we drove out of the driveway, get Nick out of booster seat, and make him (quickly) pose for pictures in the front of the house with his lunchbox and backpack. Not me - I would have planned to have plenty of time in the morning to not forget to do pictures.

I most certainly did not get a lump in my throat and tears in my eyes as Ray and I left him at that big school and waved goodbye.

And...here we go!

1. He was an excited little boy at Kindergarten meet the teacher night last night .

2. Fall is what I look forward to most this time of year.

3. My best friend is awesome!.

4. I'll miss my hubby while he's away this weekend to be honest with you.

5. Appearances can be deceiving.

6. The last person I gave a hug to was Ray as we both left for work this morning.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to reorganinizing the playroom (with help from my boys), tomorrow my plans include a special Mommy and Kids Day, thought I'm not sure what we're doing yet, and Sunday, I plan to take a nice long nap after Ray gets home!!

I'm still around. My life has been so insanely busy this past week. The county I work for started school this week and, as an administrator, I've been crazy busy. Nick starts kindergarten this coming Monday and we've getting ready for that. The county Ray teaches in started last week and he's had many evening events such as meet the teacher night, orientation, meetings, etc. We have 3 different school districts that we are responsible for in our household and it's hard to keep them all straight. As if I'm not busy enough - Nick starts soccer Monday evening - the same day he starts school!!! If I don't loose my mind any time soon, I will post the many new pictures I've recently taken, if nothing else, there will be a big post about Nick's first day of school. Have a good weekend everyone!!

What a Wonderful Weekend!!!

We had a perfect weekend. We took the kids on a suprise adventure. We loaded them in the SUV, put a long movie on the DVD players and we wouldn't tell them where they were going. Nick was very impatient for the suprise and guessed everything from Disney World to Hawaii, including the beach and the aquarium. We went to an awesome waterpark/amusement park!!
I forgot my camera, which I wouldn't have taken in the water area anyway, but below are pictures from their brochure.

Once the bucket filled up with the recycled water, it dumped on everyone in the pool area. REALLY COOL!

This water area was only about 1 1/2 feet deep. Perfect for Adam to be able to stand up and play.

Every button and knob on this huge playset squirted, shot, or sprayed water somewhere.

Ray and Nick loved the big tube slides.

A Great Time Had By All!!

What Would Your Child Say Wednesday

I found this cute little Website with a Mr McLinky about what children say. I've had many experiences when I would like to hide under a rock, pretend he's not really my child, or pack up and run - fast. You never know what a child will say and when he will say it. Here's my example and check out http://familyamericanstyle.blogspot.com/ to participate.
Last Tuesday my mom took Nick to his pediatrician to have his physical form filled out for kindergarten. I'm a little germaphobic so I never let my kids play with the toys, book, etc. in a doctors office because they are just full of germs. Well, as he waited for his turn, he sat on a chair with my Mom and another family with 2 kids came in for their appointment. Those children played with the toys. Nick walked up to the mother and told her that she shouldn't let her kids play with those toys because his Mommy told him they were filthy, full of germs and he would get sick. She thanked him for his words of wisdoms and chuckled.

Favorite Photos Week

I love this photo of Nick (2 yrs old) and Ray at the first Thomas the Tank Engine festival we took him to. He was so excited and this picture truely shows his excitement.

There are so many favorite pictures of the kids but this one of Adam at about 8 months old has always made me smile we I see it.

and in lieu of summer, I thought I would publish a recent photo that shows a great father and sons moment. Happy Hopping!

These are some words of encouragement that I enjoy. I have many others!

Not Me Monday

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

I would never feed my 2 year old son the same supper 5 days in a row because he asked for it and I knew he would eat it - nope, not me!

I would never look at my calendar and the availablity of the beach house we rented to see if we could go again later in the summer/early fall...
just one week after we got home - Not Me - NEVER

I would never procratinate on buying my husbands birthday present and still not have bought one 2 weeks after his birthday (which was during our beach trip so that didn't help) - Not Me - I would have planned ahead so that wouldn't have happened.

I would never call my son's pediatrician and ask them to sign off on his kindergarden physical form based on his last physical in December because I don't have time to get him there. Not me - and I most certainly wasn't relieved when the nurse told me everyone does this and I am not a bad mother.

I would never tell my 5 year old that the crust on bread is the healthiest part so he would eat it because I didn't feel like cutting the crust off of his sandwhich. BUT I'm glad I didn't do that because now he eats it and likes it!!!

I'm sure there's many, many, more "Mom Moments" to post but
this is all I want to share for one day
Have a good week everyone!!!
