Friday Fill Ins

And...here we go!

1. I'm going to a wedding with my hubby and we are spending the night, just the 2 of us, next weekend - Whoo Hoo!!!.

2. My boys love adventure and my youngest is even more daring than his older brother.

3. Perhaps today you can make it a point to enjoy Daddy's last day off work, he heads back to his classroom on Monday.

4. Sometimes I wish I had more of a true adventurer’s spirit.

5. Compassion is essential to being a good mom & wife!

6. Sometimes you just have to do it, no matter how difficult it may seem.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to great family time, tomorrow my plans include a day trip with the kiddos and Sunday, I want to knock some things off of my to do lists!

5 Question Friday

1. Did you have a favorite blanket or toy as a kid? If so, do you still have it? Yes, I had a doll. She had a pink cloth body with white polka dots & her name was drowsy. She is in storage in mt attic.
2. Do you dream in color? Yes
3. How tall are you? Do you wish you were shorter or taller? I am only 5' 0" tall, yes I would love to have a few more inches, but I have adjusted to being short and I'm fine with it.
4. If you could have anyone's (celeb or other) voice as the guide on your GPS, who would it be? I have no idea! The voice on my GPS never really bothered me.
5. Do you return your shopping cart to the corral or leave it wherever in the parking lot? I ALWAYS return my cart. I hate how lazy people can be sometimes and leave the cart so it can roll and damage someone elses vehicle.

Week 2 of 52 Challenge

Week 2 and I'm still in the pictures! This is Nick and I, just playing around and beging goofy with the camera while on our vacation.

Wordful Wednesday

Since Ray had taken Nick on a "big boys" vacation and Adam stayed home with me, he bought Adam a bike (that he really wanted) as treat for him before they left. These pictures capture his excitement and pure joy of receiving his gift.

Picking out the right one - A Buzz Lightyear bike!

Taking it for a test drive - so serious!

Getting suited up! Protection is important.

and he's off!!! That was such a fun evening!

Pap and Mimi had to come and watch (my parents).
Now the boys can ride bikes together.

Monday Mugs - Purple

This week's Monday Mugs theme is Purple. This was REALLY hard for me. With having a house full of boys, there is not very many opportunities for purple. Here's my best shot. These pics are from last summer at an amusement park.

Our Weekend

This weekend, and the next few days are a little different in our house - not the norm.
Ray and Nick are camping, in a tent, up near Erie Pa with Ray's family (about 4.5 hours from home). They will not be back until Tuesday and they left on Saturday. This leaves just me and Adam. My house is much quieter, and almost too easy.
Yesterday was Adam's Special Day since he didn't get to go on the campout.
Here is what we did: After we said good bye to the campers, we went out shopping. We hit all of Adam's favorite stores. We did lunch at the place of his choosing, played in the evening and, after baths, we had our own campout - Mommy style. We snuggled in my bed, watched
Toy Story 2 with the lights out, we each had a flashlight handy in case we needed it, and we shared a bowl of popcorn. The little guy had to stay back but we are having a great time and I made sure he never felt jealous.
Our kids play great together. They love each other very much and really miss each other when the other is away, but my husband and I always felt that individual time is very important. You get to see a different side to a child when they are alone. They need time to epress thier indivuality and to have some undivided attention. Those times are special and create their own unique set of memories.
So thus, this was Adam's special weekend, and Nick's special weekend. Each in very different ways, but not any less special.

But we sure do miss Daddy and Nick. We hope they are having fun but we will be waiting with lots of hugs and kisses after their safe return home!! :)

Getting to Know You

This is a fun Q & A game to play on Sundays! Wanna play? Answer the questions and link up with the host ~ Come on, it's fun!!

1. Thongs or Granny panties? No Grannies for me!! ;)
2. If you see a guy with his fly down, do you tell him? Only if it's my hubby or sons. If I know his significant other, I will tell her so she can tell him.
3. Spanx or no Spanx? No Spanx!
4. Do you sleep in your sheets? I have no idea what this Q means, but, I sleep with sheets and 2 blankets, no matter what the weather is.
5. What is your favorite Disney character? Cinderella, hands down!
6. Dream vacation spot? Hawaii, just me & Ray and unlimited $ to spend and lots of romance and fun!! With the kids, Disney World.
7. Dream Job? I already have the job I wanted when I began my career, though it took me 10 years to gain enough eperience to achieve my goal. Ultimately (if we weren't dependant on my income) I would LOVE to be a stay at home Mom.
8. Who is your hero and why? My parents. They have had a rock solid marraige for 36 years. They taught me right from wrong. There were many times that I thought they were being too strict, but now I appreciate that and understand why. They are ALWAYS there when I need them and, when I need advice or a babysitter, they are always there without question. I feel the way I was raised is the reason for my success and great life I have today!!

Shoot Me, 1 of 52

http://www.wyomingbarnetts.blogspot.com/

I've seen this challenge on many blogs that I read and I always wanted to participate, but never commited myself to the project. Here is goes - keep me motivated folks to be in some pictures!!

This challenge is an effort to get Mom out from behind the camera for a change and actually be in a picture. I thought it was a wonderful idea because, looking at pictures of events and vacations, I wonder if I was really there - there's no proof! Just proof that a picture was taken by me, but I was never in any. Anyway, here's my first entry.

We are big Dr. Suess fans at my house, so when I found these shirts, I had to have them.

I also discovered, that dressing my kids alike makes it easy to spot them and keep an eye on them in crowded situation, like at Ocean City last week.

Wordful Wednesday - Celebrities on the Boardwalk!

We just got back from an amazing trip to the beach. These images are from the boardwlk. Vendors were dressed as characters to earn extra money from gaining tips as they posed for photos. Well, needless to say, my children were absolutely, completely starstruck! It's almost like seeing the character validated that they must be real!! I think the photos captured there excitement quite well!
