My children are always making me laugh. There is never a dull moment in my house. It's such a good thing that "laughter is the best medicine."
The other day we were outside playing and the boys stumbled upon a dead baby bird. This thing was stiff as a bored and crispy! Adam, in full little boy mode, picked up the bird and ran across the yard to show me his new treasure. I said "Adam, put that down, it is dead, dirty, and yucky. We don't pick up dead animals." He responded, in a purely thoughtful and innocent manner, "Mommy, Nanny likes birdies, let's put it in a box and wrap it pretty. We can give it to her for a present, she will like it." Just what my grandmother wanted ~ a dead bird, in full rigor, wraped in a box with a pretty bow! She laughed and laughed when I told her the story. Let's just say, baby birdie was snuck into the garbage when Adam wasn't looking.
Have a great Tuesday everyone!

Oh that's funny! Thanks for the laughter! It is a gift that I cherish!
I bet Grammy would love a dead bird!
Yuck - boys are so funny.
LOL... I mean, I am *seriously* laughing out loud here and trying not to wake up Itty Bit!
That is just too stinkin' hilarious! I can just imagine trying to explain that thoughtful little gift!
Oh wait... is your son part cat? Because that is the only reason I can figure for why they think that dead animals are a gift of love, hee hee!
Thanks for linking up - this was too funny!
Aw, that is so sweet and just a tad gross all at the same time! Daisy handed me a big dead bug the other day. I scared her when I screamed!
His heart was definitely in the right place. :) Cute story.
