Where Have I Been...?

Sick! Well not the whole time. I left last Monday for Charleston for a business trip and returned Thursday. I would have normally taken my laptop to play on while I was away, but, it is broken and at Best Buy for repairs (which is a real bummer since it is only 1 and 1/2 years old). I was seriously having technology withdraw until Wednesday night. I woke up with a raging fever, sore throat and just felt crummy - and then had to get up and look professional and put together for a meeting Thursday morning and then begin to travel home Thursday night. I was off work Friday, and sick all weekend. I never touched a computer and didn't really care. I'm still not feeling good but I feel better. The key is keeping my kids from getting whatever I had. And...as of yesterday afternoon, I am dog sitting a tiny, hyper one year old Yorkie while my parents are in Las Vegas on vacation. Any time I think I might want a dog, I borrow Daisy and realize that I don't. They are like having another child and I don't want 3 children. She's cute, sweet and cuddly, but at this time, fish will be the only pets I am going to be responsible for.
Have a good week!!

1 of 52

52 Weeks is a year long challenge for YOU to be in a picture once a week for 52 weeks. We are always the ones behind the camera, this is YOUR chance to get out in front and be in the pictures with our family. We are glad you are joining this challenge. More importantly your family will really enjoy having you in the picture. Thanks for playing along! Oh, you can just jump in now with 1 of 52, you're not getting off that easy! Now go take a picture!

Nick took this picture and I thought he did a really good job. He was camera crazy a few nights ago so you are likely to see many more pics in the next few posts from his collection. He's a pretty good photographer for being 5 years old.

Remembering Babies

This is national Baby Loss Awareness week. I was reminded of this when visiting MckMamas blog at http://www.mycharmingkids.net/
I lost a baby when I was 9 weeks pregnant on February 5, 2006. No one can describe those emotions and sadness. Let's remember those babys today and then, go hug your children.

Kindergarten Picture

This is Nick's first school picture. It's so hard to belive he's in school already. It's also so hard to believe that the background for school pictures still hasn't changed since I waas in school.

Cleaning in Style

Saturday morning Adam wanted to help me clean. This is usually a job I would much rather do BY MYSELF, but none the less. Check out the outfit - still in his SpongeBob PJ's, Thomas the Tank Engine Socks, and part of his Wow Wow Wubbzy halloween costume. How could I compete with an outfit like this?

Friday Flashback

This is a picture taken by my Dad at my parents house. Nicholas is 8 months old and learning to crawl. I love this picture and his sweet face and unruley red hair. I also love this picture because it is one of the last pictures of my childhood dog Odie who had to be put to sleep about 2 months after this picture was taken. After seeing this picture, it is hard to believe Nick will be 6 years old in a few weeks!!

And...here we go!
1. Sweet dreams my sweet little boys.
2. It's been a really long week, especially for me.
3. Silliness and laughter fill my home
4. Adam is going to be Wow Wow Wubzzy & Nick is going to be a transformer this Halloween.
5. Outstanding or not so good.
6. To be on a vacation is what I want right now!
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to having a drink on my new deck, tomorrow my plans include Nick's soccer game, a b-day party for one of Nicks classmates, and some shopping and Sunday, I want to clean and catch up on things!

Yummy Project

I found this neat pumpkin cookie kit at Toys R Us yesterday. It comes with everything to make the cookies except for 1 egg and 4 Tbsp of butter. It makes a great project and
its very kid friendly.

Carefully breaking the egg as Adam waits to add his melted butter.

Rolling the dough and cutting the cookies.

Cute little baker!! We made t-shirts a few months back. The painted their own and they work great as arts and craft shirts and messy cooking shirts.

Carefully decorating a perfect cookie.

The results!! These are Nick's cookies.

These are Adam's cookies.

After cookies were made, we got quick baths, warm jammies and we started watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Halloween Movie that we will finish tonight.

Daily Funny

A cute little funny from Adam.
Each night Adam picks a small toy to take to sleep with him. He doesn't have a particular favorite like Nick's blanket, he generally changes his pick every 2 - 3 days. Anyway, last night he choose to take a blinking pumpkin flashlight to bed. He never got out of bed, but it took him a really long time to fall asleep. He is usually out in about 15 minutes. Ray and I were watching T.V. and lsitening to him talking about which spot he was shining the flashlight at.
When Adam woke up this morning I asked him if the flashlight kept him awake last night and he replied:

"No Mommy, the flashlight doesn't talk - see - him not have a mouth. See. He can't talk.
He just has a light that blinks like this - that not loud."

Fun in our PJ's
