In Love and Support

My very best friend has a close family member who was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. I was devestated when I heard the news and my heart goes out to her and her family for their sadness and journey ahead. Please post this blinkie from The Cutest Blogs on the Block website (click on my link in the upper left corner of my page) and show her your support.

My heart is touched.

I have been following this blog since the beginning. The mother/host of the blog has a great since of humor and, in most instances, I can relate to whatever she is talking about. This is the blog that "Not Me Monday" originated from. If you check this out, spend some time surfing her site and eventually the entire story will make sense. Anyway, she has a 4 month old son, Stellen, who is VERY, VERY sick and has been in the hospital since the 22nd of March. Being a Mom, my heart completely goes out to her. I have been following her blog and her "Twitters", I even have it minimized on my computer at work right now. She "twitters" so often about what is going on with Stellen that I feel I know them and I can't stay away. Following this blog gave me the interest to go "blog exploring" on my lunch hour with my laptop in the car (I know I am crazy) and I found some sites that truly tugged at my heart strings.
This blog stuff is more than addictive, it is real life. By reading about strangers, you build this crazy connection, and as strange as it sounds, you begin to feel like you know them and you tend to go to a world with other people in situations much like your own or other people with similarities to you but certain circumstances that you hope to never face, such as poor Stellen's health problems. So MckMama - I thinking of you and praying for your little boy and after an hour of blog surfing, I was amazed at how many lives you have touched. Your button was on almost every site I was on.
To follow Stellen's progress, click on his button about half way down my page on the right hand side.

Some Candid Moments

Ray had another meeting tonight, it was raining, it was too early to do baths, so we needed something to do. I thought of some cute self-portraits my friend Jamie took and posted on her blog so I decided to give it a try. We had a really great time and probably took about 30 pictures (many of them were way too scarey to post, in fact many were deleted) but these were the cutest ones and I thought I would share. It was a really fun activity!

Dad came home just before bedtime and I decided to get him in on the photography craze.
He set up the new tripod and here's the results.

July's Vacation

I wanted to post a few pictures of where we are staying for our vacation in July. We are staying in a small bayside resort called Heron Harbour. I can't wait for some warm sun, the sand between my toes, a tan on my skin, and some relaxing fun times with my family.
If you are in the Ocean City area during the third week of July (18-25), call my cell phone and we can get together!!

Not Me Monday!

I would never buy each of my children a toy on a shopping trip when I said this would be a
"no - toy" shopping trip. I'm not sure if I am a softy, wanted to avoid a tantrum, or find it really hard to say no when they want it so bad - Nope, Not Me!
I would never take something off the top of the clothes hamper and put it back in the closet when I KNOW for sure my wonderful husband only wore for an hour or two and there is no way it could possibly be dirty. Not me, I would never do that because there are days that I get really tired of doing laundry!
I would never feed my children corn dogs, potato chips, and a pickle for supper on a night when daddy had a meeting and I didn't want to cook! By the way, they loved it and ate every bite! :)
And I would never, never go home first after work for 15 minutes of alone time in the house before leaving and going to pick the kids up at school! Nope, not me!!
Happy Monday!!!

Learning to Read at Age 5!!

Ray and I have been absolutely amazed at how much kids are learning at day care. For those of you who do not know, the boys go to an educational day care, The Greencastle Learning Center. Nick is enrolled in a Pre-K class and Adam is in the 2 year nursery school class. This is been the best things we have ever done for them. They are learning so much! We love the teachers, the atmosphere, the learning, and I especially love seeing the cute projects and pictures they bring home. Here is a picture of a certificate Nick received for completely reading his first book.

He read a Max and Ruby (one of our families favorite Noggin shows) book called Max's Bath.

Happy Saint Patrick's Day!

Everyone is now healthy and back to normal. Luckily Adam never got sick and Nick was feeling better by Saturday afternoon. We had a good weekend and below are some recent pictures we took.
Have a great Saint Patrick's Day!!
Below Adam is in the Wow Wow Wubsy Zone (those of you with kids and Noggin know this show).

Mickey Mouse, Adam's new best friend.

The Giggles!

Honestly, this is not the only chair in the house :)

Helping the economy... We bought a small LCD Flat Screen TV for the living room.

Our next purchase is a 48" for the family room as soon as Ray decides on which one he wants.

Nick is Sick!!

For the past 2 days I have had a sick little boy. Nick has strep throat, two severely infected ears, and a fever that just won't quit! He's been absolutely miserable and pitiful. I hate seeing my little boy like this. I stayed home with him yesterday and did the doctor thing and Ray's taking his turn today. Adam is full of energy and doing well. We've been keeping them very seperated from each other. That's not always easy. Hopefully we can keep Adam from getting sick and hoepfully Nick will feel better for the weekend!

Friday Fill It In's

And...here we go!

1. When I look to the left, I see a plant that I've managed to keep alive for a couple of years..

2. The kitchen is the room that has the best view in my home.

3. Let it work on the first time, please.

4. Ray is very handy and gets my projects done dirt cheap!

5. Patriotism is a responsibility that all qualified citizens must share.

6. If you have any warm weather feel free to send it our way!

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to comfort a sick 5 year old, tomorrow my plans include hopefully having 2 healthy boys and doing something fun and Sunday, I want to clean and take a nap!

Wonderful Weekend

We had a great weekend. We were outside the ENTIRE weekend. I posted some pictures below of the boys enjoying the outdoors without needing to be buddled up.

I was off work yesterday and the kids were at nursery/preschool and I had the whole house to myself from 7:30am - 4:30pm and it was wonderful!!! I worked around the house like a crazy women and got so much done and many projects completed. I certainly made good use of having the whole house to myself all day. I am already planning my next day off.
Tonight is haricut night for the boys. I just love how cute they look after a fresh haircut.

One Proud, Excited Daddy!!

Ray got a phone call last night to be the head coach of Nick's T-ball team. He was SOOO excited. The baby stage is fun, but hard and exhaustive so now that the kids, especially Nick, is older we are able to do some really fun, more structured activities and Ray is so excited about coaching his sons team. He is a very proud father!!
Last week we have two unusually warm days. We went out side as soon as we got home and played until dark. The boys were so happy to be out and I must admit it felt pretty good to me too! The temperatures didn't stay warm for long. We been averaging about 25 degrees for the last several days. We all have cabin fever and we can hardly wait for spring to arrive. Below are some pictures of the kids enjoying the 55 degree day.
Nick played until dark in our garden area. Now he has it all loose, turned and ready for spring planting :)

Adam was determined he "could do it me-self."
I stood close by because I didn't want a very independant little boy falling down the rockwall.

Nick using his imagination - a train, aka "bulldozer."

The slide is much easier this year than last year for Adam since he has grown so much!
