Dear Boys...

As a Mom I always wonder, am I teaching my kids what they need to know to be well rounded and good, strong, loving men. I know they are very young, but as I reflect, the list below are a few of many essential qualities I hope to teach them .

~ Love one another, through thick or thin
~ Respect authority, ladies, family, friends, elders, and belongings
~ If we hurt each other, always apologize and give a hug
~ Education is important and essential
~ Family is everything, cherish our family
~ We will love you unconditionally
~ You can tell us anything
~ With all decisions, there are always consequences
~ We always help our family and friends
~ Remember you manners
~ Pray
~ Dream, but realize nothing is accomplished without hard work
~ Smile and have fun!!
~ Everyday we are making memories
~ You only have one life to live - live it to the fullest, you'll make mistakes, you will make successes, but leave a legacy you can be proud of!

Our Weekend

This weekend, and the next few days are a little different in our house - not the norm.
Ray and Nick are camping, in a tent, up near Erie Pa with Ray's family (about 4.5 hours from home). They will not be back until Tuesday and they left on Saturday. This leaves just me and Adam. My house is much quieter, and almost too easy.
Yesterday was Adam's Special Day since he didn't get to go on the campout.
Here is what we did: After we said good bye to the campers, we went out shopping. We hit all of Adam's favorite stores. We did lunch at the place of his choosing, played in the evening and, after baths, we had our own campout - Mommy style. We snuggled in my bed, watched
Toy Story 2 with the lights out, we each had a flashlight handy in case we needed it, and we shared a bowl of popcorn. The little guy had to stay back but we are having a great time and I made sure he never felt jealous.
Our kids play great together. They love each other very much and really miss each other when the other is away, but my husband and I always felt that individual time is very important. You get to see a different side to a child when they are alone. They need time to epress thier indivuality and to have some undivided attention. Those times are special and create their own unique set of memories.
So thus, this was Adam's special weekend, and Nick's special weekend. Each in very different ways, but not any less special.

But we sure do miss Daddy and Nick. We hope they are having fun but we will be waiting with lots of hugs and kisses after their safe return home!! :)

For My Kids...

This blog was started to document memories for my children and share those memories with family and friends. Along the way I was fortunate enough to meet some fantastic "blog friends" as well. Each week I am committing myself to document some special information for my kids about their lives. This week is all about Numbers.

Nicholas

Due date / Actual birthday - you were due to arrive December 12th, but decided to come on November 15, 2003 - it was quite an experience that I will share later.

Birth Statistics - 5 lbs & 3 oz, 18 inches long - teeny, weeny tiny!

Age of first overnight trip - 6 weeks old to Indiana to visit your paternal grandfather - and you did great.

Age and Month you began to walk - October 2004, 11 months old - a little (a lot) wobbly, but you did it and we were so proud!!

Date you started school - August 24, 2010 will never forget it! You looked so grown up at 5 years old!! It was so hard for everyone to believe you were ready to start kindergarten.

Adam

Due Date/Actual Birthdate - January 10, Scheduled C-Section on January 3rd, 2007, schedule, organized and calm. Just how I like it!! It went very smooth.

Birth Statistics - 7 lbs & 8 oz, 20 inches long - your big brother was so proud!

Age of First Overnight Trip - 5 months old to Lancaster to visit Thomas the Tank Engine and play at Dutch Wonderland. We had a great time and you were so well behaved.

Age and Month you began to walk - December 2007, 11 months - very unsteady but independant. Just in time for Christmas, as everyone predicted.

Age you began preschool - 20 months, August 2008. You cried every day I dropped you off for about 4 months straight, but your teachers assured me you stopped as soon as i was out the door :)

Feel free to create your own number questions, or use mine. This topic will probably surface again in the furture so I can document more dates, times, weights, etc. but I like to limit each posting to 5 per child.

If you play, please link up so we can share in your memories.

For My Kids...

I don't have a Mr. Linky, so I you particpate, leave me a comment.
This week's topic is . . .
5 Things I want you to know

1. You both make me smile, each & every day.
2. Even when I must punish or scold you, I love you very much.
3. Being your Mom is the best thing to have ever happened to me.
4. Though I have to work full time, in my heart I wish I could stay home and not work.
5. I love the evenings after a nice warm bath, both of you smelling so good, looking cute in your jammies, and just chilling as we have a snack and watch some t.v.
love, Mommy
