Trimming the Tree

A picture in front of my beautiful tree.

Perfectly placing the ornaments.

Reaching the right spot and hoping not to fall into the tree.

I absolutey LOVE to decorate for Christmas. I can't think of anything better. Each year the boys get to pick out one special ornatment to put on just for them and each year I go out and buy more ornaments that I can't resist because they are so pretty (even though I don't need them).
I just love Christmas.

Christmas Parade

Saturday was our annual Christmas parade. It really put me in the holiday spirit. After Thanksgiving, the decorations are coming out! The parade was fun and the kids got lots of candy thrown at them from the floats.

Friday Fill Ins

1. We need more time to get everything done.
2. My boys brought me home a "for no reason" present last night and it made me smile.
3. If you want it done your way, do it yourself.
4. I wish my husband would not go out and buy what he sees and wants after looking at the sale ads this time of year because he should leave them as ideas for Christmas presents.
5. Massachusetts has a proposed 5% sales tax on elective cosmetic surgery; and it will never affect me.
6. Laughs, smiles, and suprises make for a happy holiday.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to my special night with Nick, tomorrow my plans include a Christmas parade, and time with the kids and Sunday, I want to catch up on things!

Strange Friday Nght

What a strange Friday night it is going to be. Ray is at camp with his friends doing "boy stuff" (I do not need to know more than that - trust me) and my parents wanted Adam to spend the night since he doesn't get to stay over nearly as often as Nick does. So that leaves me and Nick by ourselves and that has never happend, except of course before Adam was born but Nick was at a different age level and things were different. It's going to be interesting. I promised we would go out to dinner, maybe shopping, come home, watch a movie and stay up late. 9:00 will be late for him, so late doesn't really mean late. I think we will have a really great and special experience. Tomorrow is our Christmas parade and my parents will meet me with Adam at 9:00am for that and then it will be me and the boys until Ray comes home Sunday - around lunchtime. I'm excited about a Mommy and Nick night. I think it will be a really special time with special memories. But strange!

Bumble Bee

The local Chevy dealer in our town got the Bumble Bee car from the Transformers movie. It is on display in the front parking lot. We knew for a few weeks that is was coming and it arrived on the day of Nick's b-day party. Of course we had to check it out. The dealer was so great and he opened it up and allowed the kids (Ray included) to sit in it and check it out. It is a limited edition that is decked out with the Transformer emblems and decals and it is made identical to the movie. The extra details made it really cool!!

Party Weekend

Sunday is Nicholas's 6th birthday and his party is Saturday. I can not believe my child is 6 years old!!! Anyway, we are having it at Fun Castle. They have Go-Carts, a Moon Bounce, Arcade, and Kid's Play Zone. Since entering kindergarden he wanted to invite classmates, so we are having an adults and kids combo party. Our theme is Transformers - it should be a great time.

Friday Fill Ins

And...here we go!
1. The last band I saw live was ??? it's been so long, I don't remember.
2. What I look forward to most on Thanksgiving is the family time and putting my christmas tree up.
3. My Christmas/holiday shopping is not started yet, but I have ideas of what I need to go buy, so that helps.
4. Thoughts of what I need to do fill my head.
5. I wish I could wear jeans to work, at least on Fridays.
6. Bagpipes are annoying.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to finishing last minute party preparations, tomorrow my plans include Nick's 6th b-day party!!! and Sunday, I want to wish my son a happy 6th birthday and recuperate from a very busy weeken.

Blog Hopping

I haven't blog hopped in a while and this week's theme sounded interesting so....
The theme this week is ask your readers a question. I can't wait to read everyone's answers!!

I love the holidays. I get so excited this time of year in anticipation for the fun, beauty, and excitement of the holidays season. I love to do special crafts, events, outings, and projects with my kids to celebrate whatever holiday we are having. I just had a great time with Halloween.

My question is: After reading the paragraph above, what are some of your favorite projects to do with your children to celebrate the up coming holidays?

If I choose your ideas I will blog about it and give credit where credit is due. I can't wait to read about everyone's fun ideas!!

Happy 40th Birthday!!

Today is the 40th birthday of Sesame Street. Anyone who has, or has had children, knows the importance of this very special t.v. show. I can remember watching and learning from it when I was little. Sesame Street, especially Elmo, has brought some very special memories into our household. Each of my children has gone through a loving Elmo phase. The show has had a magical way of teaching children about life and learning while making children fall in love with their characters.
