Monday Mugs - theme is Yellow

I was waiting for this one. I missed flowers last week, and this was my entry. It was so kind of Heather to feature yellow so I can have a second chance to show off my roses :)

This is my beautiful yellow rose bush in the front of our house.

From My Yard

I love gardening and tending to my flowers. We put a lot of hard work into our yard because we started with a clean slate after the house was built. Everything we planted is finally getting big enough to be proud of. Below are my purple lilacs, deep red azaleas, and a pink tulip. The flowers are so pretty this spring. It's so nice to be able to go out in my yard and cut fresh flowers when a bouquet dies and replenish them.

Spring Blooms

The view of my front yeard. These 2 trees are very special to me. My grandfather bought them both for me when we built the house. That was 7 years ago. They were tiny little "sticks" at the time & planted among patches of grass we were trying to get to grow after construction was completed and we moved in.
My grandfather passed away when Adam was 2 weeks old.
Every year the trees prosper and produce these beautiful spring blooms to make our front yard look so beautiful.

My Weeping Cherry Tree

Our Pear Tree
and patches of grass seed where we try to get grass to grow every year.
For some reason these few spots do not want to cooperate.

The Big Snow

Well...we got another big snow storm. Ray thought we averaged about 24 + inches, but it was hard to tell due to lots of drifting. The kids were bored by the beginning of the 2nd day of being housebound since we are used to going out and doing activties, but we all survived, adnw ill survive until we are back to normal. The cable was out on friday for about 10 hours and that was a big challenge. Not that we watch alot of TV, but it's nice to have it when the kids are bored. More pictures to follow on ways I had to get creative to entertain the kids on a very snowy day.

Our Pretty Christmas Lights

Blow-up's are a new addition to our Christmas decorating this year. Determined to not be tacky, but still fun, we found these small blow-ups at Home Depot and they made a really cute additon to out holiday decorating.

Ray's light display. I do the inside decorating, he does the lights.

The kids were so excited to see the lights when it finally got dark.

Yummy Project

I found this neat pumpkin cookie kit at Toys R Us yesterday. It comes with everything to make the cookies except for 1 egg and 4 Tbsp of butter. It makes a great project and
its very kid friendly.

Carefully breaking the egg as Adam waits to add his melted butter.

Rolling the dough and cutting the cookies.

Cute little baker!! We made t-shirts a few months back. The painted their own and they work great as arts and craft shirts and messy cooking shirts.

Carefully decorating a perfect cookie.

The results!! These are Nick's cookies.

These are Adam's cookies.

After cookies were made, we got quick baths, warm jammies and we started watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Halloween Movie that we will finish tonight.

Mowing and Gardening

Ok, I have a little bit of time to post some quick pictures from last week. Below is Adam working hard to keep up with the never ending chore of mowing the lawn and Ray and the boys complete their nightly routine of checking to see how many veggies are ready to pick from our fast growing, overly producing garden.

Wonderful Weekend

We had a great weekend. We were outside the ENTIRE weekend. I posted some pictures below of the boys enjoying the outdoors without needing to be buddled up.

I was off work yesterday and the kids were at nursery/preschool and I had the whole house to myself from 7:30am - 4:30pm and it was wonderful!!! I worked around the house like a crazy women and got so much done and many projects completed. I certainly made good use of having the whole house to myself all day. I am already planning my next day off.
Tonight is haricut night for the boys. I just love how cute they look after a fresh haircut.
